Sensory case studies - Touch

The power of touch

Hands-on beats hands-off every time.

Our interactive touch solutions turn spectators into participants, creating moments of genuine interaction that cut through the event noise. From fun games that draw big crowds to interactive touchscreens that explain complex products, we know how to get people involved.

These case studies show what happens when you give visitors something worth reaching for: longer dwell times, better conversations and brands that stick in the memory. Take a look at how we’ve helped our clients create experiences that people can’t keep their hands off.

Wavin: Foam darts challenge

Wavin UK is the country’s leading manufacturer of plastic drainage systems, serving the domestic, commercial and industrial construction sectors with over six decades of expertise. The company wanted an interactive exhibition stand to showcase its latest innovations to over 30,000 professionals at InstallerSHOW.

We designed and built a custom darts challenge game that let visitors pit their skills against each other in exchange for Wavin-branded prizes. The game created genuine excitement throughout the event, with queues forming as installers competed for goodies.

This tactile experience transformed Wavin’s space into one of the show’s most popular attractions, keeping people engaged and on the stand for longer. Queues formed throughout the event as visitors competed, enabling Wavin’s team to demonstrate products and hold meaningful conversations with potential customers.

“The darts game was genius. We had installers queueing up all day, which gave our team some brilliant opportunities to chat about our products.”

Specsavers: Interactive wordsearch

Specsavers is the UK’s leading optical retailer, operating over 900 stores and delivering exceptional eye care to millions of customers annually. The company needed a bespoke exhibition stand to make an impact at 100% Optical, the UK’s premier annual optical event at ExCeL London.

For the stand, we built and coded an interactive touchscreen wordsearch game that challenged visitors to find Specsavers-related words as quickly as possible. The game featured a leaderboard and data capture system, with daily winners receiving £250 experience vouchers. This digital experience reinforced Specsavers’ brand messaging while entertaining visitors.

“The wordsearch game and other interactive elements created a genuine buzz around our presence. It really helped us stand out in a crowded environment.”

Stiebel Eltron: Crack the code game

Stiebel Eltron UK is a leading provider of renewable heating and hot water technologies, with 100 years of experience. The company needed a bespoke stand for InstallerSHOW, to celebrate its centenary and showcase its sustainable solutions to over 20,000 industry professionals.

We created an interactive ‘crack the code’ game, with the chance to win premium water boiler kitchen taps. The game encouraged people to explore the stand hunting for clues, visiting different product zones while learning about the full range.

The interactive challenge extended visitor dwell time and created natural conversation starters. Combined with the stand’s open design, it helped deliver a 20% uplift in visitors compared to previous years at the same show.

“Exhibit Interactive’s professionalism and creativity set a new standard for our exhibition experience.”

VitrA: Basketball hoops

VitrA is a global bathroom and sanitaryware manufacturer, producing over 5.6 million pieces annually and supplying the UK market for over 25 years. The company wanted a design-led stand to make an impact on over 15,000 industry professionals, during its debut appearance at InstallerSHOW at Birmingham NEC.

We created a unique basketball game using one of VitrA’s toilet seats as the hoop. Visitors who scored a basket won the chance to play a ‘crack the code’ game for a luxury pizza oven.

This playful touch turned one of VitrA’s best-loved products into an interactive experience that perfectly captured attention.

The basketball game ensured delegates didn’t just pass by, they stopped, engaged and remembered. The unique combination of entertainment and brand promotion resonated so well with attendees that VitrA booked again for the following year, with the bespoke stand ready for future events.

“eI’s innovative approach and the way they executed our basketball hoop game idea were inspired.”

Zonal: Interactive touchscreens

Zonal Hotel Solutions provides innovative property management systems for the hotel industry. It’s part of family-owned Zonal UK, which has supported more than 17,000 hospitality businesses since 1979. The company needed a bespoke interactive stand to launch its new brand at the Independent Hotel Show at Olympia London.

We created three interactive demo stations where Zonal’s staff could show its new property management system in action, giving visitors hands-on experience with the technology. We also transformed a structural column into a feature with custom cladding and eye-level touchscreens, making it an interactive part of the stand experience.

The interactive demo stations created an engaging, hands-on experience that kept footfall consistently high throughout the event. It allowed visitors to explore the system’s capabilities directly, leading to more meaningful conversations about how the technology could benefit their properties.

“eI’s ability to translate our brief into such a striking exhibition presence exceeded all our expectations.”
