Interactive & sensory experiences
for Wavin UK

The client

Wavin UK is the country’s leading manufacturer and supplier of plastic drainage piping products.

It offers a wide range of hot and cold plumbing, underfloor heating, drainage and stormwater management solutions for all applications.

Wavin is a longstanding ei client and we’ve collaborated on many projects over the years.

Here are some of the interactive and sensory solutions we’ve created to help Wavin showcase its brand, products and services at events and exhibitions across the UK.

Sight: Giant darts game

Wavin wanted a visually stunning, interactive exhibition stand to make an impact and showcase its latest innovations to over 30,000 industry professionals at InstallerSHOW.

We designed and built a custom darts challenge game that let visitors pit their skills against each other in exchange for Wavin-branded prizes. The game created genuine excitement throughout the event, with queues forming as installers competed for goodies.

This sensory experience, which combined smart design, striking visuals and an element of friendly competition, transformed Wavin’s space into one of the show’s most popular attractions, keeping people engaged and on the stand for longer.

Queues formed throughout the event as visitors took part, enabling Wavin’s team to demonstrate products and hold meaningful conversations with potential customers.

Smell & Taste: Popcorn machine

InstallerSHOW is the UK’s premier event for professionals in the heating, water, air and energy sectors. With more than 800 exhibitors showcasing their latest products and innovations, the show offers unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning and business growth.

As part of Wavin’s modular exhibition stand at the event, we created a bespoke popcorn stall with branded cones to draw people to the stand. It proved irresistible, transforming Wavin’s stand into one of the show’s most popular attractions.

The popcorn’s buttery aroma wafted across the venue, drawing curious crowds from neighbouring stands to come along for a tasty treat, giving Wavin’s team plenty of opportunities to strike up conversations and demo products. Demand for the tasty popcorn was so overwhelming that supplies ran dry before the final day.

Sound: Branded roadshow vehicle

Showcasing its innovative products and solutions to the building and plumbing trades is a big part of Wavin’s marketing strategy. While it attends several trade events a year, it needed a way to take its brand directly to stockists and customers, including all the leading high street builders’ merchant chains and DIY stores located across the UK.

We created a branded roadshow vehicle so Wavin can take its brand on the road. We bought and refurbished the van on Wavin’s behalf. It has a fully liveried exterior, while the interior includes bespoke flooring, walls, lighting and ceilings. Product information and digital content with crystal clear audio are played on wall-mounted LED screens and iPads.

We take care of everything, from booking and logistics to marketing materials and setting up each event, so Wavin’s sales staff can turn up at each roadshow without having to worry about anything.

Touch: Penalty shootout

Wavin is a regular exhibitor at InstallerSHOW. We create a new look and feel for its stand for each event, to keep things fresh, and always try to include interactive elements to boost engagement with visitors.

One of the most popular activities we’ve created was a football-themed penalty shoot-out game. Participants took a shot, and if they scored a goal, they’d win branded football-related goodies. We hired an actor to take on the role of referee, oversee the game throughout the event and direct everyone taking part to speak to a member of the Wavin sales team after they had taken their kick.

We made the stand from reusable and sustainable materials throughout to keep waste to a minimum. Our stand delivered a fantastic result for Wavin, helping it to meet its visitor and lead generation objectives and providing lots of great video content for social. England legends Gary Neville and Stuart Pearce even came along to take a couple of kicks and show the crowd how it should be done.

Client Testimonial

“After working with Exhibit Interactive for several years, we never fail to be impressed by how they take an idea and turn it into reality. Our stands are always delivered to the highest quality, and we also really appreciate how they have moved to more sustainable construction methods.

“This has allowed us to use our stand framework multiple times in different configurations to deliver different messages, with minimal waste.

“A fantastic job all round, and we look forward to collaborating with ei on our stands in future.”
