Newmedica at
100% Optical
The Client
Newmedica is a leading provider of NHS-funded and private ophthalmology services. It operates a network of eye clinics and surgical centres across England. Part of the Specsavers group, Newmedica specialises in cataracts, glaucoma, macular, vitreoretinal and oculoplastic services.
Founded by a former eye patient and a leading ophthalmology consultant, the business was built on a shared ambition to transform the patient experience by offering personal care and reassurance throughout the process. Everything it does is driven by a commitment to personalised care, with a mission to change lives through better eyesight and vision.
The Project
Our Client Services Director, Chris, led this project.
We’ve worked with Newmedica several times before and continued our ongoing collaboration by creating a new bespoke exhibition stand to help it showcase its brand and solutions at 100% Optical.
Organised in partnership with the Association of Optometrists, 100% Optical takes place each year at ExCeL London. It brings together more than 11,000 professionals from across the sector, along with more than 250 exhibitors. The show offers more than 120 hours of CPD-certified seminars and provides a platform for visitors to discover the latest in eyewear, contact lenses and optical technology.
The Solution
Newmedica is part of the Specsavers Group, and this year was the first time it had exhibited alongside the main Specsavers brand. We created the stands for both, which stood side-by-side in the venue.
The layout and concept were exactly the same for both brands, based on Specsavers’ previous stand at 100% Optical. The challenge was to give the Newmedica stand its own look, feel and identity.
We achieved this by creating striking graphics throughout the stand in Newmedica’s distinctive orange and white brand colourways. We also integrated the custom-made 3D logo we created for Newmedica’s previous stand into the new space for 100% Optical.
At the front of the stand, there was a networking, reception and product display area, where Newmedica’s team could give live demonstrations of its optometry equipment and jellied eyes. There was also a pick and mix stall with branded bags and Halal-friendly orange and white sweets.
To the rear of the stand, there was an education theatre for expert-led clinical discussions. It featured a branded stage with a large LED screen for presentations, interactive touchscreens containing CPD content, and silent disco headphones so visitors could listen along.
We provided a full production crew to run the CPD area throughout the event, along with dedicated on-site tech support. Although the stand was completely bespoke, all its elements are reusable and easy to store, making the whole stand a really sustainable solution.
The Impact
The stand’s bold design and orange and white branding made Newmedica impossible to miss on a busy exhibition floor. It attracted consistent audiences throughout the show, giving Newmedica’s team a credible stage to engage with optical professionals on their terms.
The branded pick and mix stall created a natural gathering point, drawing visitors in and giving the team plenty of opportunities to start conversations. From the moment visitors approached the stand, there was no mistaking who Newmedica is or what it stands for, reflecting exactly what Newmedica’s patient-first approach is all about.
Testimonial
“We’ve worked with Chris and the team at Exhibit Interactive on several projects now, and they never fail to deliver. This was a particularly exciting brief. Exhibiting alongside Specsavers for the first time meant we needed to make a real statement as a brand in our own right, and that’s exactly what EI helped us to do.
“The stand’s design was striking and distinctive, and our 3D logo looked fantastic in the space. But what really made the stand work was how well it was thought through. The education theatre gave our clinical team a proper platform to engage with delegates, while the pick and mix stand brought a warmth and personality that felt very true to who we are as a business.
“EI understood our brief completely and executed it brilliantly. We’re already looking forward to our next collaboration.”
