The Client
Zonal is a connected technology provider offering innovative solutions to a diverse range of businesses across the hospitality sector. It supplies a wide range of point-of-sale, online ordering, booking, kitchen management and stock control solutions, along with customer engagement tools such as loyalty programmes and vouchering.
Founded in 1979, the family-owned firm works with more than 16,000 pubs, restaurants and hotels across the UK and beyond, helping them automate processes, enhance their customer experience, share valuable data and gain actionable insights to streamline their operations and maximise profits.
The Project
Showcasing its innovative products and solutions to the hospitality sector at expos and trade shows is a big part of Zonal’s marketing strategy.
It attends several events a year and wanted to redefine its presence, moving away from a traditional products and services approach to something more in-depth and engaging.
Zonal approached us to design and build a bespoke sustainable stand for two of the industry’s biggest annual showcases – the Casual Dining Show and Restaurant & Bar Tech Live.
The events bring together senior decision-makers from restaurants, pubs and bars, hotels and contract caterers to discover new products and innovations for their businesses, hear keynotes from the biggest names in hospitality and network with connections from across the industry.
The Solution
Our solution was to create a bespoke exhibition stand with a huge LED wall playing custom video content we created as its centrepiece.
The video was to showcase how Zonal’s solutions help empower hospitality operators to deliver a better guest experience.
The stand also included an illuminated branded panel to welcome guests into the space, featuring the logos of five of Zonal’s industry partners across the two events – Toggle, Feed it Back, Bums on Seats, Airship and S4labour.
Touchscreen displays were located around the stand, with barstool seating, to allow Zonal’s team to give interactive demonstrations of its technology to visitors.
All the electrics were housed behind the LED screen to keep the floorspace neat, tidy and safe.
Finally, we created a lounge-style hospitality area with bespoke seating and furniture to allow guests to network in a relaxed and informal setting.
The Impact
The stand made a massive impact on visitors because of the way it made its video content the star of the show.
It helped Zonal stand out in a packed exhibition hall and draw visitors in because it offered something different to neighbouring stands.
Once the video screen had drawn people onto the stand, Zonal’s team could engage with guests and help them participate in the interactive demos while capturing their contact details to follow up after the events.
As with all projects we work on, we took care of everything, from transport and logistics to installation and takedown, so Zonal’s team could enjoy a stress-free experience.
Due to the success of this year’s shows, Zonal is working with us again in 2023.
