The Project

We were recommended to TALIS Group prior to the pandemic, so this was a long-term project to bring to fruition. The client was was looking for a new events partner to advise, conceptualise, design and build a bespoke exhibition stand to help it maximise its presence at IFAT22, the world’s leading trade fair for the water, sewage, waste and raw materials management industries.

IFAT22, in Munich, is a biennial event that brings together high-calibre partners for knowledge transfer. It offers career development and networking events to foster growth in environmental technology. It also features a massive exhibition of global product innovators and service providers. The event was due to take place in 2020, but was cancelled because of the global COVID pandemic, with pent-up demand meaning the 2022 version was its biggest and best yet.

The Solution

Our solution was to create a visually stunning bespoke 19m x 12m exhibition stand to give TALIS Group a huge presence at the event. We chose elegant black and blue colourways with white writing to showcase TALIS’ distinctive brand to its full effect.

The stand was a peninsula space with three open sides, which we designed with minimal structure to optimise the floorspace and its visual impact. 

Its centrepiece was a vast 8m x 4m LED wall playing custom-made video created by us, based around the ‘Water is Life’ theme we suggested and developed for the client.

The stand was split into three areas. A product display area featured a reception desk with interactive touchscreens and iPads, featuring content designed by us, based on the client’s products and services, alongside physical product demonstrations. 

A hospitality and networking zone featured café-style seating with table menus, and a kitchen/catering area serving beer, coffee and nibbles. And a meeting room with boardroom-style seating was built at the back of the stand, for pre-booked meetings with clients and prospects.

The stand incorporated custom-printed wall graphics and a hanging fascia with bespoke lighting. Along with the design and build, we sourced bespoke furniture and catering from local suppliers, and also took care of all the logistics, including rigging, electrics, water and waste management.

The Impact

The stand made a huge impact at the event, with hundreds of guests and passing visitors stopping by to check out the video content and product demonstrations, and relax and enjoy some informal networking in the hospitality area. It was was also home to a secret product launch, exclusive to the event.

Because of its position, it became one of the event’s showpiece stands. Many of the visitors were highly complimentary of its visual impact and the way it drew people in, thanks to the mix of stunning design and interactive content.

Like with all projects of this scale, we took care of everything, from design and build to transport, logistics and catering, to ensure a stress-free event for the TALIS Group’s team. While we started designing the stand pre-pandemic, when it finally came off, we made sure everything went off without a hitch, so the client – and their guests – could enjoy an event to remember.
