Jewson Live

The Client

A&I Group is a leading event management and engagement solutions provider. It delivers high-quality engagement programmes and events to help businesses drive performance among their customers, employees and channel partners.

A&I Group organises a wide range of successful events every year, taking a tailored approach for each event objective and audience to deliver outstanding experiences for brands, exhibitors, delegates, the media and key influencers. It worked closely with Jewson, one of the UK’s best-known builders’ merchants, to organise and deliver Jewson Live, the UK’s largest annual expo for the building trade.

The Project

The first Jewson Live took place in 2015, and since has grown year on year, attracting thousands of visitors and suppliers from across the construction industry. It offers an exciting mix of top exhibitors, live product demonstrations and practical advice while showcasing some of the latest products and innovations on the market.

Jewson Live 2022, which took place in December at the NEC in Birmingham, was the first since 2019 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Both Jewson and A&I Group wanted to mark its return with a bang. We worked closely with the organisers to deliver ten stands at the event.

These included three bespoke stands for Jewson Customer Function, Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions and West Fraser, and a sustainable cardboard exhibition stand for Making Better Homes.

We also created T3 system stands, with some bespoke elements, for Build Aviator, International Timber, JPS, Pasquill, W Howard and Wavin.

The Solution

Our solution was to create ten distinct stands for very different clients, all aiming to showcase their products and key brand messages and drive engagement and interaction.

We built the stands using reusable materials wherever possible to help reduce waste and make the event more sustainable.

Many of the stands incorporated interactive elements such as LED walls, touchscreen technology and digital and physical games like penalty shootouts and shuffleboard.

We worked closely with A&I Group, Jewson and the exhibitors from an early stage to make the event happen, carefully designing and planning each stand to ensure the best fit within the overall floorspace and exhibition hall design.

We liaised with three different partners to get the bespoke stands built, while our installations team created all the system stands in-house.

We also took care of all the on-site logistics on the day to ensure the stands were all built on time.

The Impact

Visitors, exhibitors and Jewson themselves described the show as ‘the best yet’, and all the stands we created helped to add interest, engagement and visual appeal.

From A&I Group’s perspective, it was ten fewer stands and exhibitors to worry about as we took care of everything, from design and build to installation and logistics, meaning its team had more time to focus on servicing its other clients and delivering an outstanding event.

All the stands we created brought a different look, feel and vibe to the event to help enhance the overall visitor experience.

And one of our stands – for West Fraser – won the award for stand of the show, thanks to its stunning design and interactive elements.
