Case Study - JELD-WEN

The Client

JELD-WEN is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of premium-quality doors, patios, timber windows and staircases. Its products are renowned for enhancing the beauty and functionality of homes and have won numerous awards for their dependability, innovation and excellence.

JELD-WEN entered the European market in 1993, before coming to the UK in 1999. Its five UK manufacturing facilities, in Sheffield, Melton Mowbray and Penrith, have extensive experience in delivering quality joinery solutions to customers.

The Project

JELD-WEN approached Ei because it wanted to take a radically different approach to events and exhibitions. It was a regular exhibitor at industry trade shows and expos and needed help in bringing its joinery solutions to life.

We were tasked with the design and build of a new custom exhibition stand for JELD-WEN, which was set to make its debut at Screwfix Live. Previously, JELD-WEN had displayed multiple products at each show in a very traditional way. We felt a better approach would be to showcase fewer products on the stand and use interactive digital technology to highlight the rest.

The Solution

Our brief was to create something memorable and inspiring and promote a clear message. We built the stand around two of JELD-WEN’s products, to showcase the quality of the materials, construction, and manufacturing standards. We used an LED video wall, built around the actual products, to display video content we created, which portrayed various key messages about the brand and made the products the hero.

These included a Union Flag, to demonstrate its UK manufacturing presence and ‘Made in Britain’ ethos, and imagery showing how JELD-WEN’s products can withstand weather conditions, are safe and secure, and made from responsibly sourced timber. The stand also included a networking and information area, product samples and a touchscreen, allowing visitors to browse the full range of product designs and materials.

The Impact

We created a stunning stand which not only drew visitors to the stand but also allowed JELD-WEN to portray positive messages about its product range and brand.  The simple, easy to use data capture touchscreen we used generated more than 200 new potential sales, as well as allowing visitors to see the full product range online.

There was a real buzz around the stand, and the feedback from delegates was overwhelmingly positive. A fellow exhibitor even said to our team: “I want a stand that looks like that!”.
