Founded in 1963, it provides innovative solutions focused on quality, cost-effectiveness and commitment to its customers.

Saint-Gobain Weber is a specialist manufacturer of industrial mortar products, including renders and decorative finishes, external wall insulation systems, floor screeds, concrete repair and tile fixing products that support sustainable construction in the UK.

And International Timber is the UK’s leading importer and distributor of bespoke, sustainable timber and panel products, supported by a comprehensive portfolio of specialist services.

The Project

Futurebuild is Europe’s biggest trade show and conference dedicated to the built environment. The annual event gives brands of all sizes the opportunity to share innovations, products, processes and solutions to more than 27,000 influencers from the world of construction. It also delivers a world-class conference programme boasting prominent figures and keynote speakers from across the industry.

The year’s event took place at the ExCel, in London, in early March and attracted more than 20,000  specifiers, decision-makers and disruptors. We were tasked with creating exhibition stands for three very different clients to help them stand out from the crowd and make a memorable impression. It enabled us to showcase our understanding of exhibiting to the construction sector and the way we can help brands make the right impact in a crowded market.

The Solution

For International Timber, we designed and created a simple modular stand with information about the business and its products and services displayed on branded graphic walls. We brought the stand to life with bespoke wood flooring and planters made from its product range, along with a freestanding, branded sales desk for its marketing materials. Because the stand was modular, it can be easily reconfigured for the client to use at future events.

For Clark-Drain, we created a modular stand built on the T3 system. We designed it to be extended to different sizes and shapes at future events, making it a very cost-effective investment for the client. We incorporated bespoke elements, including elegant furniture matching its brand colours, and an interactive touchscreen discovery table featuring product videos and web links to product PDFs and other corporate information. The digital unit also featured an interactive ‘pairs’ game, similar to snap and based on Clark-Drain’s products, to inspire interest among stand visitors and capture their contact details for their sales team to follow-up after the event.

And for Saint-Gobain Weber, we created a custom-built stand to help it demonstrate and showcase its range of products and how easy they are to install. We took inspiration from its branding to create a bespoke design that mirrors the colourways and shapes of its logo. It incorporated an LED screen with interactive video content, along with plenty of wall space onto which its products were installed. We also created a freestanding area where its sales team could deliver live product demonstrations. The walls were pre-manufactured in our workshop, where Weber’s installation team also fitted their products in place prior to the event, so the whole stand could be transported and built easily on-site.

The Impact

The show was a massive success for all three clients, and the stand designs helped them all stand out and make a real visual impact on delegates throughout the event. Thousands of visitors checked in at the stands to view the products and take part in the various interactive activities and demonstrations on offer during the event, generating an encouraging number of potential sales leads for each client.

The Clark-Drain and International Timber stands illustrated just how effective modular stands can be in giving the impression that they are bespoke and custom-built, while the Saint-Gobain Weber stand delivered the kind of WOW! factor you’d expect from a custom-built stand from us. And our detailed project planning helped ensure a stress-free event for all three clients without them having to worry about any aspect of their exhibition stands. We took care of everything, from pre-build and installation to takedown. All they had to do was turn up and enjoy the event.

“Ei were a perfect fit for us as we needed to come up with a sustainable and interactive solution to our exhibiting needs. We couldn’t have asked for better customer service. No question was too small, and there was always a prompt response to emails in a friendly manner. Anything we needed changing, Chris could not have been more helpful to make sure our project was completed the way we had envisioned.

“They shared all information and designs at each stage with me as well as a project timeline which was really helpful and meant I could share accurate and informative updates to the team.

“Chris was organised and knowledgeable, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free at a time that can be very hectic! Chris and the team at Ei did an amazing job, and we were so pleased with the high standard of finish and design.”
