Hoffmann Group and J&S Engineering Ltd at MACH 2022

The Clients

J&S Engineering Ltd is one of the UK’s leading providers of waste material treatment, management and recycling solutions for the machine tooling industry. Its products help manufacturers improve their swarf management, enhance their oil and coolant recycling, and clean their machines more efficiently. It also designs and manufactures its own range of chamfering machines in the UK, for bar preparation and parts handling systems.

Hoffmann Group UK, meanwhile, is Europe’s leading system partner for quality tools, workstations and PPE, with over 90,000 products available. It helps customers become more productive and efficient by simplifying the procurement of industrial tooling and consumables. Its product range includes innovative solutions for machining, clamping, metrology, cutting and grinding, and spill control, along with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, workstations and storage solutions and workshop accessories.

The Project

MACH 2022 is one of Europe’s largest trade shows for the manufacturing and engineering technology sector. It aims to give exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their latest innovations, products, processes and solutions and help manufacturers find, specify and purchase new equipment. The biennial event attracts around 25,000 visitors and more than 600 exhibitors, making it a leading platform to connect UK manufacturers, decision-makers, buyers and specifiers with suppliers of new technology, equipment, services and processes.

This year’s event took place in April, at the NEC, in Birmingham. It was the first since 2018, as the 2020 event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We were tasked with creating exhibition stands for two very different clients to help them stand out from the crowd and make a memorable impression. It enabled us to showcase our understanding of exhibiting to the manufacturing sector and how we help brands in this space make the right impact in a competitive marketplace.

The Solution

J&S Engineering had exhibited at previous MACH events. It usually took a shell scheme stand but wanted to elevate its presence at the 2022 event with a custom build. We created a 4m tall bespoke stand with high-level branding, clean lines and integrated lighting to illuminate its exhibits. It incorporated a welcome counter and seating area, plus a video screen and touchscreen with direct access to the company’s website and product portfolio to increase interactivity. Consideration had to be given to floor ducts with access to power and the positioning of large exhibits requiring three-phase power.

And for Hoffman Group, we designed and built a bespoke stand to help it display and demonstrate its range of products and how easy they are to use and install. We took inspiration from its distinctive orange and white brand colours to create a simple, open-floored event space, complete with an LED screen playing corporate video content and a ‘product wheel’ highlighting its full range of solutions. The stand itself was laid out like a mini-workshop, with different podiums and shelving incorporated to enable its team to showcase and demonstrate some of its best-known products, including a range of industrial-scale drill bits and cutting tools.

The Impact

The show was a massive success for both clients, and the stand designs helped them stand out and make a real visual impact on delegates throughout the event. Thousands of visitors checked in at the stands to view the products and participate in the various interactive activities and demonstrations during the event, generating an encouraging number of potential sales leads for each client.

The event was a clear brand profile-raising opportunity, allowing both clients to demonstrate operational machinery and products to new and existing contacts. Interactivity and networking were a priority. Both stands allowed the clients to bring their distinct products and processes offerings to people’s attention in very different ways.

Our detailed project planning helped ensure a stress-free event for both, without them having to worry about any aspect of their exhibition stands. We took care of everything, from pre-build and installation to takedown. All they had to do was turn up and enjoy the event.

“Working with Exhibit Interactive was everything we wanted. The service was five star!

“We were really impressed with the design and concept for the stand and the execution of the finished product, which helped us make a massive impact at this year’s MACH event.

“There was a noticeable difference in the build-up of us not having to get involved with the stand build, logistics and the problems that usually arise on-site with services and installation. Ei just took care of everything, so we didn’t have to worry.

“The team at Ei did what needed doing. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went the extra mile. It was great working with them, and they gave us everything we wanted. It helped us achieve great visibility at this important event for our sector.”
